Product test: Enders Monroe Pro 4 SIK Turbo

The Monroe and its predecessors are already a classic at Enders. Don't always reinvent everything, but rather improve something that already exists and adapt it to the needs of the market. With the Monroe Pro 4 SIK Turbo, Enders has created a reliable workhorse. Four burners, one of which is the turbo steak burner, a back burner and a side cooking area provide plenty of power on the grill. The glass panel on the lid with an integrated thermometer gives the Monroe a particularly striking look.

Data and assembly
You should allow around two hours for the assembly of the Monroe. A helper is recommended for setting up the cooking chamber. When assembled with its side shelves, the grill is 149 cm wide and 54 cm deep. It is 119 cm high. A large amount of food can be accommodated on the available grill surface of 44 x 70 cm.

Operation
We used all 4 burners to test the temperature in the cooking chamber. With no wind and an outside temperature of 15 °C, the grill needed around 20 minutes to reach a temperature of 300 °C. After another 10 minutes, the maximum temperature was 350 °C. The heat distribution on the grill grate was very even, but decreases slightly towards the front, as is usually the case. The grill area designated as the turbo zone reaches around 400 °C on the grate, which is perfectly sufficient for good branding.
The two permanently mounted side shelves and the recessed handles ensure that the Monroe is stable and easy to move. Enders has made the panels of the lower burner chamber into 4 parts to make cleaning easy after grilling. The parts can be easily removed and cleaned.

1. A 5-part cast iron grill, the back burner and a turbo zone offer a perfectly equipped cooking space

2. Even an 11 kg gas bottle finds enough space

3. Double-walled doors on the base cabinet

4. The lid with glass pane provides a clear view of the grilled food

5. Removable side panels of the burner pan simplify cleaning

6. Stable warming rack

Conclusion
The workmanship of the Monroe is very good for a gas grill in this price range. The gaps on the lid and the base cabinet of the doors are good, as are their double-walled designs. The entire design of the grill, from the cooking chamber to the base cabinet, the burner fittings and the associated pictograms, are straight-lined, simple and clear. The opening on the back of the cooking chamber required for a gas grill is very large with a clear width of approx. 2.5 cm. Here and also at the openings for the spit grill, a lot of heat escapes when heating. Enders should still work on this so that the energy used reaches the grill grate even more efficiently. Equipped with a turbo burner for branding, a back burner and a side cooking area, the Monroe is a real price/performance winner and receives a purchase recommendation from the FIRE&FOOD editorial team.

The price for the Enders Monroe Pro 4 SIK Turbo is currently around 650,- Euro
