Product test: EVERDURE KILN R Series Oven

Pizza from the Roti slice: Homemade pizza was the trend in outdoor kitchens in 2023. The grill brand Everdure is convinced that this trend will continue in 2024 and is launching the Kiln pizza oven series. For the interior of the oven, a tried-and-tested technology with a rotating pizza stone was used, and the housing was designed in a stylish Everdure design.

Data and assembly
For the editorial test, Everdure provided the Kiln R in graphite. The oven is also available in stone and orange. The gas-powered Kiln weighs around 35 kg. Two 9.2 kW burners provide the necessary pizza heat. External dimensions: 704 x 660 x 380 mm.
You can't really talk about assembly, as the oven comes out of the good packaging almost ready for use. Insert the batteries to drive the turntable and the ignition, put the pizza stone in the holder provided, connect the gas bottle - done. The manufacturer recommends burning the oven in for around half an hour at full load to burn off any processing residues.

Operation
The two burners, one of which is built into the dome in a semicircle and one burner under the pizza stone, the booster, quickly reach temperatures well over 400 °C. The rotating pizza stone ensures that the pizza is baked evenly all around. It is advisable to work by sight, as the baking process is very quick (approx. 3 minutes).

1. The small button on the left is used to switch on the turntable, the middle button for the upper stainless steel burner, the right button for the booster - the burner under the pizza stone

2. Hides the two battery compartments and the connection for the 220 V connection behind the door

3. The design significantly reduces the footprint

4. Rotating pizza stone and tray, both are easily removable, e.g. for cleaning

5. A peephole to check the lower burner

6. After just 15 minutes the temperature is over 400 °C

7. Upper stainless steel burner and rotating stone in function

8. Perfect pizza – evenly baked

Conclusion
The performance of the Kiln R is impressive. The design, the workmanship, the burner performance and the result of an evenly baked pizza - really delicious! Despite its generous size, the oven only requires a small surface area.

The price for the Everdure Kiln R for the 2-burner version is a RRP of approx. 849 euros.
