Product test: MORSØ Vulcano Wok Burner
Wokken with pleasure!
Test: Elmar Fetscher
The Danish brand Morsø is known in Germany for its stoves and fireplaces in a well-formed, Scandinavian design. For several years now, Morsø has also been bringing grills onto the market in its typical design line and, most recently, a wok burner, the Vulcano. The look is simple, everything is reduced to the essentials. The powder-coated, anthracite base with an internal burner and the cast-iron wok attachment above it give the wok burner a special style, the Morsø style.
data and assembly
Unpack the burner, connect the gas, and you're done - you can start woking. At 12.2 kg, the wok burner is not a lightweight, but the cast iron wok attachment contributes most of the weight. The format of 33 x 37.8 x 19.6 cm easily finds its place in the outdoor kitchen.
Operational
Easy to use - turn on the gas bottle, turn the temperature control to the first stop, the piezo ignites and the burner starts working. The nozzles in the ceramic start to work evenly and powerfully with a blue flame. The 8 kW output is more than sufficient to prepare wok dishes in the Asian style. The lower burner is protected from the wind and therefore brings the heat to the wok pan without great loss.
1. Heavy-duty cast iron wok attachment and attractive wok cutlery.
2. Clear temperature controller with integrated ignition.
3. Gas connection leading to the rear.
4. The burner easily reaches over 300 °C.
5. The low-lying burners are well protected from the wind.
6. A burner with real power.
Conclusion:
The Vulcano's impressive features are its easy handling and the power of the wok burner. A must for any outdoor kitchen and for fans of Asian cuisine. Morsø also offers matching wok cutlery, a wok pan and a cover as an option.
