Bavarian BBQ WEEK 2020 cancelled!

Unfortunately, we have to inform you that GHM Gesellschaft für Handwerksmessen mbH, as the organizer of the International Crafts Fair with Handwerk & Design and Garten München, has canceled the 2020 fair. The reason for the cancellation is the spread of the coronavirus/Covid-19 and the associated, urgent recommendation of the crisis team of the Bavarian state government to cancel or postpone large, international trade fairs until further notice. Unfortunately, the cancellation also affects the Bavarian BBQ WEEK and the Dutch Oven Cook-Off 2020.

The Central Association of German Crafts (ZDH), the Bavarian Crafts Day and the Chamber of Crafts for Munich and Upper Bavaria, shareholders of the trade fair organizer GHM, support the recommendation of the crisis team of the Bavarian State Government and place the well-being of exhibitors and visitors at the top of their priority list. Dieter Dohr, Chairman and Managing Director of the Society for Crafts Fairs mbH, commented: "In view of the spread of the coronavirus, the cancellation of the International Crafts Fair as a major event with 1,000 exhibitors and over 100,000 expected visitors as well as a correspondingly high number of personal contacts is unavoidable. We hope for the understanding of all trade fair participants. The trade fair's goal of a diverse personal exchange to maintain and build business relationships can no longer be implemented without risk under the given circumstances."

FIRE&FOOD very much regrets the cancellation, but of course the protection and safety of people is our top priority. Our readers who have already ordered or won free tickets for the 2020 trade fair will receive them next year. At the moment, FIRE&FOOD is considering a possible replacement event so that at least the Dutch Oven Cook-Off can perhaps still take place this year. However, we cannot promise this at this point in time!

The next Bavarian BBQ WEEK (with the Dutch Oven Cook-Off) will officially take place from March 10 to 14, 2021.
