June 12th is World Gin Day!

Gin Day takes place every year on the second Saturday in June. International Gin Day was launched in 2009 by Scotsman Neil Houston to bring people all over the world together to drink gin with an official reason. In the upcoming issue of FIRE&FOOD 03/2021 we will take a closer look at the popular spirit and juniper.

Berlin bartender Stefan Brüderl has mixed his favorite cocktails for you from selected gin brands with a strong juniper character. In Christopher Jabs' MARA CARBO Steakhouse, Stefan told us his favorite recipes. We have Stefan's exclusive cocktail recipe for "Gin Cosmo" for you here! Have fun mixing it up!

The fruity, fresh Gin Cosmo is perfect for summer. The top 3 drink for women is also very popular with men. Delicious!

GIN COSMO Cocktail

Ingredients:

  • 5 cl Gin (e.g. Barcelona GINRAW)
  • 2 cl lemon juice
  • 1 cl Cointreau
  • 2 cl cranberry juice


Preparation:

  1. Pour gin, lemon juice, Cointreu and cranberry juice into a glass with ice cubes and shake everything with a cocktail shaker.
  2. Strain the cocktail into a cocktail glass without ice.
  3. Finally, garnish the cocktail with the lemon zest
    Garnish with a peeler.
    Separate the peel and press it over the drink.
    The essential oils of the peel give a pleasant
    noticeable citrus aroma with fruity nuances.
