Chimney starters: The quick way to the perfect embers

For many people, grilling with charcoal or charcoal briquettes is the ultimate choice when it comes to choosing a fuel. And good things take time. For pieces of charcoal or briquettes, this means that they can only be described as ready for grilling when all of the pieces are covered with a fine, grey-white layer of ash and you can only bear to hold your hand about a hand's width above the grill for three seconds at most.

Modern grills are often optimized and use the chimney draught effect due to their design or have a built-in fan, for example, to get the coals glowing as quickly as possible. But chimney starters also bring the coal to the desired destination quickly and efficiently, and with less smoke than many charcoal grills - which makes the neighbors happy. If long jobs are planned, chimney starters ensure that supplies are replenished on time, and Dutch oven fans also appreciate them for their grill briquettes.

Depending on the manufacturer and model, the time it takes for charcoal or briquettes to glow in a chimney starter varies. But the perfect embers should be achieved after 30 minutes at the latest. To do this, simply place the chimney starter on the bottom grate of the grill or on an old patio slab and fill it with the appropriate fuel. Then place two or three solid grill lighters underneath and light them. Now the chimney can develop its full effect, and as soon as the charcoal or briquettes are ready to grill thanks to the chimney effect, pour them into the grill and spread them out.

Rösle uses stainless steel as a material. The large handle with heat protection plate is designed to guarantee a secure hold, and the additional handle ensures that the hot coals are poured out in a controlled manner.
