Of jumping sparks and glowing coals. The TARAN FIRE designer fire bowl is designed to bring the fun of an archaic wood-fired barbecue experience to life – a safe and versatile fire pit. The TARAN is crafted with true craftsmanship: The employees of the FONDIUM iron foundry use recycled cast iron and refine it with a high-tech cast alloy. This ensures maximum stability and durability. The TARAN's legs are also made of regional oak, giving the TARAN its exclusive look.

TARAN FIRE is a designer fire bowl – Made in Germany:

Manufactured in the FONDIUM iron foundry in Singen (Baden-Württemberg) and awarded the German Design Award, this cast iron fire bowl combines premium quality with regional craftsmanship. The cast parts are naturally coated with cooking oil. The baked-on oil is food-safe and forms a rust-protecting patina. The oak feet are treated in the same way. Only the adapter between the cast iron fire bowl and the wooden feet is coated with a durable varnish. The fire bowl can be swiveled to optimally position it against the wind. The advantages: fewer flying sparks and a better view of the fire pit. (Our premium fire bowl can also be optionally expanded with our grill grate, wok insert, grill plate, and vegetable pan. This transforms your fire pit into a barbecue experience!)

ABOUT TARAN
Fire has always been a reason for us humans to gather around it. It gives us warmth, provides light, and has long been used for cooking and roasting. The heart of every TARAN is the cast-iron fire bowl. It rests on a three-leg cast-iron adapter and can be tilted in any direction. The cast-iron coal basket maintains the distance from the fire bowl and, together with the air vents, always ensures proper air circulation. Freely movable, it keeps wood or coal horizontal even when the fire bowl is tilted. The three legs made of oiled, local oak ensure secure footing. The wooden legs are available in two versions – short and long. Now it's your turn! Light a fire in the TARAN. Once the embers are perfect, nothing stands in the way of grilling fun. Or you can add another log and marvel at the sparks as they fly into the night sky.

Tips for cleaning and care:

Most of the cast parts that make up the TARAN have a natural corrosion protection oil. After coating with natural (edible) oil, this is baked onto the cast surface, creating a protective patina. This patina requires maintenance.

After use, let the grill cool down and dispose of the cold ash. Rub off any rust and dirty areas with a brush or damp cloth. Then immediately brush again with cooking oil (e.g., sunflower oil, linseed oil, or similar). Generally, re-oil after every use, as otherwise rust may form. If larger areas need to be repaired, brush the affected areas with cooking oil and then heat them. To do this, either place the individual parts in a preheated oven at over 220°C for 15-30 minutes or simply light the grill until a dark patina has formed. Since the cast parts are only treated with oil, they can begin to oxidize or become dirty after a certain amount of wear and tear and exposure to natural weather conditions. If this happens, simply clean with a brass brush and a damp cloth and repeat the seasoning process with oil. If the cast iron rusts slightly, this does not limit its function. Cast iron does not rust through.
