Ingredients

• 500 ml dark beer
• 300 ml red currant juice
• 1 tbsp brown sugar
• 1 cinnamon stick
• 2 cardamom pods
• 1 star anise
• 3 cloves

Heat the blackcurrant juice in a Dutch oven, for example, add the spices and let it simmer for about 15 minutes.

Then remove the spices with a slotted spoon. Add the dark beer and heat briefly, but do not let it simmer.

As soon as the foam has subsided, serve the mulled beer quickly. Do not leave any leftovers in the Dutch oven; drink it straight away or pour it into another container.
