Spicy Tomato Soup from the Dutch Oven

Ingredients

2 cans chopped tomatoes
1 tbsp olive oil
1 onion
1 clove of garlic
Pepper salt
fresh basil, chopped
2 slices of toast

preparation

Heat the Dutch oven over a bed of embers. Peel the onion, cut into cubes and sauté in olive oil until translucent.

Peel and press the garlic, add it to the onions and sauté it. Make sure that the garlic does not burn and become bitter.

Now add the tomatoes and basil and let the whole thing simmer for about 10 minutes, stirring occasionally and without a lid.

In the meantime, cut the bread into cubes and toast it in the lid of the Dutch oven.
