
Spicy Tomato Soup from the Dutch Oven

Ingredients
• 2 cans chopped tomatoes
• 1 tbsp olive oil
• 1 onion
• 1 clove of garlic
• Pepper salt
• fresh basil, chopped
• 2 slices of toast
preparation
➊ Heat the Dutch oven over a bed of embers. Peel the onion, cut into cubes and sauté in olive oil until translucent.
➋ Peel and press the garlic, add it to the onions and sauté it. Make sure that the garlic does not burn and become bitter.
➌ Now add the tomatoes and basil and let the whole thing simmer for about 10 minutes, stirring occasionally and without a lid.
➍ In the meantime, cut the bread into cubes and toast it in the lid of the Dutch oven.
