Taran goes FIRE&FOOD
Several years ago, the cast iron works Fondium, based in Singen and Mettmann, began developing a grill and launching it under the name "Ignium." Under the "Taran" brand, they created a compelling grill product that is unique in both design and material composition. Several awards—including the German Design Award in 2024—confirm the distinctive and unusual design. Furthermore, the materials used guarantee the highest quality. The main components of the grill are made of spheroidal cast iron. The combination of cast iron and spheroidal graphite gives the cast iron a steel-like quality and is not susceptible to breakage like conventional cast iron.
However, it will be maintained in the same way as conventional cast iron products such as Dutch ovens or grill grates. Despite its success to date, Fondium will have to say goodbye to its grill business – but not to the grill market – at the end of 2024. The group, whose main customer is the automotive industry, will focus even more on its core competencies in the future – but grill production can continue.
